    Celebrating Holi at Woodland View

Last week, children at Woodland View learnt all about Holi in their classes and during an assembly led by Miss Drake, our Diversity Lead. They explored the meaning behind the Hindu festival and got creative by decorating bunting in a variety of different ways. This beautiful bunting has been displayed around the playground and at the front of the school, adding a burst of colour and vibrancy to our surroundings.

On Friday 14th March, we marked the festival with special Holi activities in Miss Drake’s classroom at lunchtime. Children worked together on tissue paper spring trees, created bonfire art inspired by the Holika bonfire and enjoyed Holi-themed colouring and paper chains. It was a fantastic opportunity to get creative and celebrate together.

Celebrating Holi is part of our four-year rolling plan at Woodland View where we aim to celebrate different religious festivals each year in a variety of ways. This ensures we recognise and appreciate the diverse backgrounds of all our children, making our school a place where everyone feels valued.

A big thank you to everyone who took part – we loved celebrating with you!
