Parent Governor Vacancy
Are you looking to contribute to the future success of your child’s school?
If so, I am excited to inform you that we have a vacancy for the role of Parent Governor on our Governing Board.
The school’s Governing Board plays a vital role in the success of our school as it is responsible for providing confident and strategic leadership, and creating robust accountability and oversight for the school’s educational and financial performance. The Board is passionate about education and committed to continuous school improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.
As a Parent Governor, you’ll work with the Board to make sure it effectively carries out its duties. You’ll also play an important part in bringing a parental perspective to the Governing Board.
A Parent Governor should have a strong commitment to the role and, most importantly, to improving outcomes for children.
If you’re interested in the role, please email office@wvps.northants.sch.uk to give an expression of interest. I will then liaise with you to arrange a visit to school so I can give you more information about the role and answer any of your questions.
The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 24th October. Thank you in advance to any parents who consider this exciting opportunity.
School Photographs
Individual school photographs will be taken on Thursday and Friday this week. Please see the timetable below to see when your child's photograph will be taken. All sibling photographs will be taken on Friday.
Thursday: Foundation Stage, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4
Friday: Year 5, Year 6 and ALL sibling photographs
For some year groups, this would normally be a day that your child would be wearing PE kit. Therefore, if you would prefer your child to be wearing their school uniform for the photographs, please send your child in wearing their full school uniform and they should bring their PE kits with them to change into for their PE lesson.
Parents’ Evening - Week Beginning 3rd November
Parents’ Evening is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s progress and share all the great things they’ve been achieving in school. It’s also a chance for us to work together, discuss next steps, and make sure every child is happy and thriving in their learning. We really value these conversations and appreciate your time and support in helping us make school the best it can be for your child.
If you haven’t signed up yet, please check your Pings from last week and choose an appointment.
Half-term Camps
We are again offering holiday camp opportunities during half term for our Woodland View families through our club providers Craft Barn (Monday 27th October) and Freestyle (Tuesday 28th October).
Half-term camps are a fantastic way for children to stay active, social, and creative during the school break! For those who love being imaginative, Craft Barn provides the perfect space to get creative, try new projects, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with friends. Whereas, Freestyle offers brilliant sporting activities that help build confidence, teamwork and fitness.
Respond to the School Ping to sign up for Craft Barn and visit https://freestylegroup.co.uk/event-list/holiday-camps/ for Freestyle bookings.
School Library Books
We are so lucky at Woodland View to have a stunning, engaging and well-stocked library for the children. The younger children have library sessions each week, and the older children can visit the library at lunchtimes. We also have a great team of volunteers and Year 6 Librarians who support the running of the library!
Please help us to keep the library stocked and up-to-date by reminding children to return their books on the below days each week:
Foundation Stage - Wednesdays
Year 1 - Fridays
Year 2 - Thursdays
All other year groups - any day!
Thank you
