Headteacher Newsletter 464

Dear parents, please read on for information about Transition Morning, September classes, Meet the Teacher One-pagers and staffing news.

Transition Morning

This morning, the children enjoyed spending time in their new classes ready for September. Transition is such an important part of preparing for a new school year, giving children the opportunity to meet their new teachers and teaching assistants, explore their new classrooms and begin looking forward to the exciting year ahead.

We are delighted to share our teaching team for September, including a very warm Woodland View welcome to our two new teachers, Mrs Barrett and Mr Wilson.

September Classes

  • Foundation Stage: Mrs Stevens & Mrs Jakeman
  • Year 1: Mrs Wood & Miss Drake
  • Year 2: Miss Sanders & Mrs Cox/Miss Ryan
  • Year 3: Miss Stubbins (soon-to-be Mrs Young) & Miss Hicklin
  • Year 4: Mrs Evans & Mr Wilson
  • Year 5: Miss Wagstaff & Mrs Barrett
  • Year 6: Mr Willars & Mrs Nash

We know our children will have a fantastic year with these wonderful teams and we are already looking forward to seeing them flourish in September.

Meet the Teacher One-pager

Your child will be bringing home a Meet the Teacher One-Pager today. These fun profiles give children an opportunity to learn a little more about their new teacher, including some interesting facts and favourite things.

We hope these help spark conversations at home, build excitement over the summer and support children in feeling confident and ready for the start of the new academic year.

Staffing News

There have been some wonderful milestones to celebrate within our Woodland View family.

Congratulations to Mrs Williams-Morris on the arrival of her baby son, and to Mr Willars on the birth of his daughter. We wish both families every happiness as they enjoy these precious new chapters.

We also have wedding celebrations to look forward to this summer, as Miss Stubbins gets married during the holidays. From September, she will be known as Mrs Young. We wish her every happiness for her special day.

As always at this time of year, we also say farewell to some valued members of our team.

  • Miss Brahimaj is following a long-held ambition to teach abroad and will be moving to Vietnam next year.
  • Mrs Birch, our School Administrator, is retiring after an incredible 24 years of dedicated service. Having joined Woodland View when the school first opened in 2002, she is one of our original Woodland View staff members.
  • Mrs Beevors is retiring after 12 years as a Teaching Assistant, during this time she has supported and nurtured countless children.
  • Jamie Havard is leaving us after 5 years to take up the exciting opportunity of becoming a Site Manager at a primary school in Northampton.

We would like to thank each of them for their dedication, care and commitment to our school community. They have all made a lasting contribution to Woodland View, and we wish them every success and happiness in the future.
