COURAGE - Values Awards

This morning the children celebrated this term's value of COURAGE. There were special assemblies for both KS2 and KS1/FS. Mr Horsley led the celebrations and seemed to be in a dancing mood, as he led the children in dancing to our COURAGE-based playlist.
The class teachers then shared the names of 2 children from each class to be presented with the COURAGE value award and the reasons they had been selected.

Miss Wagstaff had found a poem suitable for the theme of COURAGE and performed it for the KS2 children. (See below)
Brave in the Halls
In sneakers worn and backpacks tight,
They march to school with morning light.
Their hearts may flutter, knees may shake,
Bet every step is courage they make.
A hand raised high, a voice unsure.
Still speaking up, they find the cure.
For every fear they face each day,
They push the stormy clouds away.
They try new things, they miss, they fall,
But rise again and give their all.
For courage isn't loud or proud -
It's quiet strength within a croud.
From math and art to making friends,
Their bravery never truely ends.
So cheer them on, both big and small,
These heros walking down the hall.

Well done to the winners of this term's value awards. Next half term, our value is - KINDNESS.
