Sports Hall Success!

This morning, a team of Year 6 children represented the school at the district Sportshall Athletics competition in Daventry. This event is always a favourite as it allows a large group of children to participate in sport and represent the school. Throughout the event, the children compete in a range of track and field events gaining points for the school and adding to an overall total at the end of the event.

After completing all the events, we found out that we had finished in 2nd place! This was an amazing result and it was wonderful to see the cooperation of all the children throughout the event. It was extremely pleasing to see the support and encouragement that the children offered each other as they competed!

Last year, many of our Year 6 children competed in this event as Year 5 children. We finished in second place at the district level last year and were 150 points behind first place. We then went on to finish in 3rd place in the county. Today, we finished just 24 points behind first place! This marked improvement is amazing to see and shows how committed our children are to bettering and furthering themselves through sport!

We now wait to find out the result of the other district competition before seeing if we have advanced to the county finals. The top three scoring teams advance to the county finals and with a score of 512, we hope that this is enough for us to compete at the county level again!
