Twinkle Twinkle and DISCO!

With such a short term, the two year 6 classes have been trying out two different short musical units. In 6JW they have been improvising around the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star: using body percussion, voices, untuned and tuned percussion. The children have been finding ways to develop short sections of music and improvisation (based on Twinkle Twinkle) by changing rhythms, tempo, pitch, note and dynamics, as well as a few unusual ways!

Meanwhile, in 6CC it has been all about the 70s and the song, "You to me are everything" by The Real Thing. We have compared 5 different cover versions with the original and looked at the contrasting the ways different musical elements are used within each piece. Furthermore, we have been adding some of our own 70s dance moves to work on keeping to a pulse/tempo. Look out for a few children "Doing The Hustle!" in a further short video coming soon!
