Nouns

The children have learnt that nouns are places, people and objects/things. They know there are 2 types of nouns,proper nouns and common nouns. Proper nouns have capital letters because they are the 'one and only'.  The children are working with partners here to highlight words in the text which are common nouns and words which are proper nouns.
