Exploring Place Value

This week in Year 2, we’ve been diving into place value, learning how two-digit numbers are made up of tens and ones. To help solidify this concept, we’ve been playing some fun and interactive maths games!

One of the highlights was *Base 10 Bingo*. In this game, the children practised recognising how many tens and ones are represented by base 10 blocks. Once they figured out the number, they got to cross it off their bingo card. It was a great way to combine learning with a bit of friendly competition.

We also played *Place Value Wars*, where pupils worked in pairs to turn over number cards and create the largest possible two-digit number. It was a fantastic way to practise comparing numbers and understanding place value in a fun and engaging way.
