Hup, two, three, four!
In today’s music lesson, Year 1 had great fun exploring rhythm and animal sounds through “Colonel Hathi’s March” from The Jungle Book. We began by marching to “The Grand Old Duke of York”, standing up and crouching down to the beat.
Then, the children became elephants, marching in time to the music and counting “1, 2, 3, 4” as they moved.
We listened carefully to how the music used high and low sounds to represent the different elephants. The class enjoyed hearing the trombone version of the song and decided the sliding notes sounded just like elephants spraying water!
Everyone joined in singing and marching together to “Hup, two, three, four,” keeping the rhythm steady.
It was a lively, musical lesson full of movement, teamwork and jungle fun!
