The Qur’an

This week in RE, we have been learning about Islam. We discovered that the Qur’an is a very special and holy book for Muslims. One interesting fact we learnt is that Muslims believe the Qur’an is so special it should never touch the floor. To keep it safe, they use special stands called rehal.

We were inspired by the beautiful geometric patterns often found on these stands, so we designed and created our own book stands! The children really enjoyed exploring the shapes and patterns and thinking carefully about how to make their designs unique.
