Sunshine Skips and Snowflake Spins

Year 1 have had another fantastic week!

In maths, we have been practising our numbers to 10 and counting backwards within 10, linking closely to this half-term’s KIRF. The children are growing in confidence with their counting skills.

In English, we continued and finished our work on The Fort. The children have been practising writing short sentences, making sure to include capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

In dance, we explored how movements can represent different kinds of weather. The children glided like ice, danced like snow and skipped like sunshine. We also thought about how dancers keep in time by counting, before putting together a short routine that included gliding, spinning and freezing in a chosen pose.

Well done, Year 1!
