Lots of learning

We have had a fantastic week in Year 1!

In maths, we have been busy practising our counting and learning how to recognise numbers written as words. The children have enjoyed spotting numbers in different ways and are becoming more confident every day.

In English, we have been learning the story The Fort off by heart. Using actions has really helped us to remember the words and the children have been brilliant storytellers! We also had lots of fun labelling our own treasure maps.

In science, we explored the different everyday materials we could find around our classroom. The children enjoyed investigating and sorting objects and asking lots of thoughtful questions.

We have also enjoyed a variety of brain breaks to help maximise our learning!

It has been a busy and exciting week of learning. Well done Year 1!
