Going Wild with Animal Prints! πΎπ¨
This week in Year 1, we explored animal patterns as part of our Going Wild topic. The children had lots of fun using mixed media to create beautiful animal prints in their sketchbooks.
They began by using watercolour paints to create a background, thinking carefully about the colours and shapes of different animal patterns. Once the paint was dry, they used felt tip pens to add detail – spots, stripes, zigzags and more!
We also had a great discussion about why animals have different patterns, learning that many use them for camouflage to help stay safe from predators in the wild.
The children were proud of their work and really enjoyed being creative with their art!
