Fun with Microbits

"What are Microbits?" We hear you cry! These are small computers that the children can learn to program, which can run programs independently or communicate with one another. The Year 6s have been enjoying finding out how, by using their Scratch programming skills, they can also write simple programs for the Microbits. This week, we looked at some of the different input and output functions of the Microbit and how we could program the various buttons and sensors to trigger different images to be displayed on the 5x5 led display.

Next week, we hope to use the children's knowledge of variables to start creating other Microbit programs, such as: step counters; Microbit dice; Rock Paper Scissor game; or lots of other things!
