RE- Religious diversity within a community

Today in RE we recapped our knowledge of the different religious and talked about 'signs' of a given religion we might see in our community. These included the presence of religious buildings and symbols. We then used a key to highlight the different 'signs' of different religions on a picture of a cartoon community. We used our previous learning about Hinduism and Judaism to spot the Hindu Aum or Om sign and the kippah and tallit on a Jewish boy. It was a great opportunity to discuss misconceptions and everyone spoke respectfully about the religions discussed. We also discussed whether religious diversity was a good thing and how it helped communities.
