Art- 3D shapes using tone and shading

Today in Art, we were learning about how to use tone and shading to make a 3D shape look 3D. First we had to decide where the light was coming from. We then made the side that was away from the light darker and used different pressures with the pencil to give a lighter tone to the colouring. The techniques of scrumbling, cross hatching, blending and hatching, that we learnt last week, came in very useful this week. We did a really good job of listening to instructions and produced some great pieces of art that looked 3D.
