Our Earth!

This week we have been learning all about Earth Day, which is on the 22nd of April each year.  We have been discussing how we can look after the earth and how we can care for all the things that live on our earth.  They have listened to the story 'Here We Are' and then used sound knowledge to write sentences about how we can care for the earth.  They have made a smiley earth by colouring and sticking.  The children have also planted flower seeds in our outside area so we can grow some colourful flowers and discussed how we can look after the seeds so they grow well.  In maths, we have been learning about 2d and 3d shapes.  The children have learnt that 2d shapes are flat and 3d shapes are fat!  They have named some common shapes and looked for these in and around our school.
