Recycling Week!

This week the children have been learning all about the importance of recycling and what this means for our environment.  They listened to the story of the 'Messy Magpie'.  They have also learnt about the items that can and cannot be recycled.  Within the classroom, the children have sorted items and materials into different recycling boxes, they have cut out and stuck pictures into the recycling containers and turned old rubbish into something new by sticking, cutting and colouring.  In maths, we have been learning all about capacity and the language of full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty.  They have ordered the containers as well as found out how many small cups of liquid a container can hold.  On Thursday, the children welcomed their grown-ups into the classroom to explore all the different activities related to our week's topic.
