Group 1 - High ropes/Archery
For our first activity, we tackled the high ropes! This activity is always a favourite of both the children and staff as it is always where fears are faced and nerves conquered! This activity also includes the legendary leap of faith, testing the nerves of even the most fearless! The children were amazing; they were wicked and defied gravity. It was wonderful and inspiring to see the children showing courage and kindness to each other. The support and encouragement on display was heartwarming for the adults to see. We are so proud of the group for their early achievements!
After a short break, we channelled our inner Robin Hood and put our hand to archery! After a brief demonstration, we started by using our new skills to hit the archery targets at the end of the room; we weren’t quite at the stage of shooting apples off people’s heads just yet, but some of us aren’t far away! This was lots of fun and a nice change of pace from scaling heights. During our session, we played a fun game: bingo! This involved the children working in teams to try and bring down their score, aiming to hit the colours on the target and score less than each of the teams! This was great fun and full of tension throughout.
