Sale prices!

This week, we have been getting to grips with finding percentages of amounts. We have thought about how to use our knowledge of fraction equivalents to help us calculate and used 'chunks' of 10%, 5% and 1%.

Today, we took things a step further to consider where we tend to see percentages in life outside of school: special offers and discounts! The scene was set with some impressive offers at Smyths and we had to calculate the new prices of these items after their discount. Lots of us also began to consider the most efficient method of working out the percentage discounts too!
