Mickey Mouse Cushions
For DT this term, the children made their own Mickey Mouse cushions. The children had to use a variety of stitches to create Mickey Mouse cushions. They started by sewing the Mickey Mouse silhouette onto a piece of felt using a running stitch. After that, the children turned the felt over and used an over stitch to sew two pieces of felt together. They had to sew 3 sides together, then turn it inside out, fill it with stuffing and sew, so all edges were closed. It was tremendous fun, and I was so proud of how the children tackled the process of sewing, especially as most of the children had never sewn before.
