Exploring Macrophotography

This afternoon, we began to consider how artists use photography. We found out about what macrophotography is: taking close-up photographs of something small; we photograph the fine details that are otherwise quite hard to see. We then used the iPads to take some photographs of some natural items, looking for organic shapes and patterns. We had to consider the angle, background and lighting to get the best photograph. Once the photographs had been taken, we selected one, desaturated the images and used the controls to experiment with the image's grey tones.
