Floating and sinking fun!

Today, the children explored the concept of floating and sinking. Working in groups, they selected different objects from around the classroom and predicted whether each one would float or sink. The children impressed us with their use of scientific vocabulary such as float, sink, buoyant and submerge. We also discovered that the objects which floated must have air trapped inside them- great scientific thinking, Year 1!
