Hannah Gold - The Lone Husky

This morning we had a brilliant session with Hannah Gold (one of Mrs Cox’s favourite authors). She has a new book coming out this week: The Lone Husky.

She told us about how she had always wanted to be an author and showed us images of how she has been to visit the places that she writes about to ensure she knows exactly what it is like there and ensure her writing is authentic.

We reflected on if we were a character in one of her books which adventure would suit us best - we all had different ideas! Some of us would prefer sledding across the Arctic with huskies and polar bears, some of us would prefer coming face to face with dolphins and whales and others would enjoy exploring moonlight beaches and turtle nests! There were a few of us who couldn’t decide and would like to have all of these adventures! We also hear from the illustrator, Levi Pinfold, who talked about his process and how he creates his images. They were stunning!

We can’t wait to add her newest book to our class collection!
