A Splash of Colour in Year 1

This week in Year 1 we have been exploring primary colours! To help us with our learning, we watched a story called Mixed, which showed us that the primary colours are red, blue and yellow. We then discovered that when we mix these together, we can make secondary colours such as green, orange and purple.

The children had so much fun (and got a little messy!) experimenting with colour mixing. We also looked at a famous painting called Numbers in Colour by Jasper Johns, which inspired our own artwork. Using primary colours, we carefully coloured in numbers and then painted around them with secondary colours.

Our finished pieces look bright and bold and Miss Drake will be hanging them up in our classroom to make it feel super vibrant!
