DT Day!
On Monday we started making our model cars in Design Technology. We had already designed a car, choosing a shape that would reduce air resistance. We drew out our design on two side panels and a top panel. We had to remember to include tabs so that the panels could be fastened together and to the chassis. We made the chassis out of lollipop sticks and attached straws to the chassis which the wheels went through so that they could rotate freely. We used a lot of different skills; we measured our chassis and the Dowling, which the wheels were attached to, and used a saw to cut the dowling. The children showed great perseverance and overcame some tricky design challenges.
We will be testing our cars later on in the week.
