Amazingly awesome atlas antics!
This afternoon, we continued our work on natural phenomena by exploring mountains! After a discussion about how mountains are formed, different types of mountains and the impact that tectonic plates have on them, we used the atlases to identify the locations of different mountain ranges around the world.
We started by locating different continents around the world, helping us to pinpoint the exact location of different mountain ranges. We identified and located many mountain ranges: the Himalayas (Asia), Andes (South America), Rocky Mountains (North America), the Alps (Europe) and many others.
It was wonderful to see the children demonstrating cooperation and working together to locate the different mountain ranges in the atlases; super work Year 6!
