Fractions!

This half-term, in Maths, we are focusing on fractions of shape and numbers. This week we are concentrating on understanding the denominator and the numerator and how they inform whether a fraction is a non-unit fraction or unit fraction. The children had to write what the fraction of a folded shape was and compare unit fractions stating which was greater or smaller. The children did amazingly at this task, and it was a great consolidation lesson from what they had learnt in Yr 2.
