Zoetrope

Today, children made one of the first types of animation techniques, a zoetrope. The zoetrope was one of the first animating devices invented in China around 180AD. A zoetrope is a round drum with slits on the side around the top, and a sequence of pictures, each one slightly different from the last, around the bottom. When you spin the zoetrope the pictures appear to be moving! The children had great fun designing and making their own zoetrope.
