Sound walk

The children took part in a sound walk around the school as part of our science learning about sound and how our ears help us to hear. The children walked beautifully around the school, showing excellent behaviour and listening carefully as we explored different areas together.

As we moved around, the children stopped to focus on the sounds they could hear and began to think about where those sounds were coming from. They listened closely to footsteps, doors opening and closing, voices from other classrooms and sounds from outside such as the wind and rain. This helped the children to understand that sounds are all around us and travel to our ears.

The children were fantastic at concentrating and sharing their ideas, using thoughtful language to describe the sounds they heard. This practical activity supported their understanding of how our ears hear sound and helped develop important listening and observation skills. We were very proud of how carefully they listened and how beautifully they walked throughout the school. 🌟
