A walk in the woods

This half-term, in English, we are looking at a beautiful book called The Bear and the Piano.  It has beautiful illustrations based in the woods where the bear lives and provides a great opportunity to develop the children's descriptive setting writing. To help the children with coming up with ways to describe the woods, we went into the local wood and noted down what they could see, hear and smell. The notes will then help the children to create a descriptive piece of writing later on in the term.
