Respect Values Awards

We had a very packed final Values Awards of the year. Mr Horsley was leading proceedings for both the KS2 and KS1/FS assemblies.
The children were very excited to take to our famous red carpet and hear the comments of our teachers about why they had been chosen for the RESPECT value awards. Year 2 had even decorated their teachers especially for the event - please see Mrs Evan's wonderful ensemble in the picture below!
Along with our Year 6's we also said goodbye to a number of staff:
Mr Baxter - who has been a wonderful volunteer (throughout the school but particularly in Year 4) throughout the whole year.
Mrs Brennan - who has worked in a range of capacities and classes throughout the school.
Mrs Atkinson - who has worked primarily with our early years children.
We say a huge thank you to all of them for their work at our school and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours. We will miss them all!
Miss Wagstaff had an appropriate poem ready for the event:
Respect is Cool (Even in School!)
Respect's not boring, trust me - nope!
It's not just rules or "how to cope."
It's saying "please" and sharing glue,
And not just shouting, "MINE!" at you.
It's listening when a friend has stuff,
Even if it's weird... or super rough.
Like, "My cat can sing in outer space!"
Just nod and smile - don't laugh in their face!
Respect means waiting for your turn,
Not shouting out - you'll always learn!
It's helping out, not acting bossy,
And not calling anyone weird or frosty.
It's treating teachers like they rock,
(Yes, even when they watch the clock).
And if your mate drops all their lunch?
Say, "Want half my sandwich, or a crunch?"
You don't need a crown to rule the class -
Just be kind, not full of sass.
Respect is cool, it's smart, it's ace -
It makes the world a nicer place!
