Headteacher Newsletter 441

Dear parents, please read on for a safety message, details about this term’s Value, Family Bingo, warm weather, Kingswood Caterers, Family Learning courses and Values Awards.
Safety Message
I want to make you aware that a suspicious incident was reported last Friday in the woods beside the park next to school. The matter has been reported to the police, and they are looking into it. Please continue to be mindful when in the area and stay vigilant. As always, the safety of our children and families is our top priority, and we thank you for your support in helping to keep everyone safe.
Creativity
This term, I am excited to introduce Creativity as our new school value. Creativity is about thinking in new ways, expressing ourselves, and finding different solutions to challenges. We believe that encouraging creativity helps children to grow in confidence, develop resilience, and discover their unique talents. Throughout the term, we will be celebrating creative thinking across all areas of school life and inspiring our pupils to let their imaginations shine!
Family Bingo - This Friday 2nd May from 6pm
Last year we held a Family Bingo evening with the help and support of our wonderful FOWV! It was such a success that we are doing it again this Friday!
We will be hosting 2 games - 6-7pm and 7.15-8.15pm meaning that families have 2 opportunities to sign up so hopefully nobody misses out!
I have hosted some mini-bingo games with the children in assembly today so they have experienced some bingo fun so hopefully they will be keen to play on Friday. If you would like to attend, please go to https://www.pta-events.co.uk/friendsofwoodlandview/index.cfm?event=event&eventId=97863
Sunshine!
With the lovely warm weather we’re likely to have this week, please make sure your child brings a water bottle to school each day. A sun hat and some sunscreen applied before school are also a good idea to help keep everyone comfortable and protected while enjoying time outdoors. Staying hydrated and sun-safe means our children can make the most of the sunshine while continuing to enjoy their learning!
Kingswood Caterers
Our new lunchtime caterers have made a great impression so far with their delicious meals and extended menu choices. You may have also seen them doing some free tasters after school last week which the children seemed to really enjoy! If your child has not yet sampled the new lunchtime menu, please go to www.kingswoodcatering.co.uk to make bookings. If you have any booking queries, please contact Kingswood directly on 01536 201203.
Family Learning Courses
We recently shared the news that we have been doing some work with North Northants in the hope that we can provide some useful family learning courses. The response from parents interested in the courses was fantastic! We have lots of parents interested in all of the courses we advertised. Based on the responses, I am pleased to share the details of the first course which will be run by North Northants. Our hope is that over time, we can offer a range of courses.
Starting on Thursday 5th June for 6 weeks is ‘1,2,3 Magic’. This is a behaviour management programme to help you develop better strategies for dealing with your child’s behaviour.
Throughout the course you will:
Learn how to control difficult behaviours
Learn how to discipline without yelling and arguing
Learn how to encourage good behaviours
Learn how to handle testing and manipulation
Look at ways to strengthen your relationship with your child
The course runs for 6 weeks and will take place in school from 1-3pm. We will be sending a PING message soon where parents can sign up for this free course.
