Headteacher Newsletter 463

Dear parents, please read on for information about hot weather, Cinema Club, Sports Day, World Cup Lunch, Inspire Opportunities, Summer Term dates and parent voice.
Hot Weather
The warmer weather looks set to increase over the coming days and weeks. Please help your child to stay comfortable by applying sunscreen before school, providing a sun hat and ensuring they bring a named water bottle each day.
Children do not need to wear jumpers or cardigans in hot weather and we will be encouraging regular drinks throughout the day. We will also be mindful of the amount of time children spend outside and we will take steps to keep classrooms as cool and comfortable as possible.
Cinema Club - Book Now!
Our final Cinema Club of the year will take place on Monday 29th June, straight after school.
Finish time: 5pm (or 4:30pm for Foundation Stage children)
Included: a drink, snack and hotdog
Places can be booked via:
https://www.pta-events.co.uk/friendsofwoodlandview/index.cfm
Thank you to the Friends of Woodland View for continuing to organise these popular events for our children.
Sports Day Reminders
We are looking forward to our upcoming Sports Days!
Sports Day provides children with the opportunity to challenge themselves, work as part of a team, demonstrate resilience and, most importantly, enjoy being active together. Our events combine both inclusive participation and healthy competition, ensuring that every child can experience success and enjoyment.
Sports Day Dates and Times
Tuesday 23rd June
Foundation Stage: 9:00am – 10:15am
Year 1 & Year 2: 10:15am – 12:15pm
Thursday 25th June
Year 5 & Year 6: 9:00am – 11:30am
Year 3 & Year 4: 12:50pm – 3:10pm
As these are outdoor events, parents and carers are welcome to bring folding chairs. Please be aware that there will be movement between activities throughout the event, so you may need to move around the field to follow the action.
With hot weather forecast, we will continue to monitor conditions closely. We are very keen for Sports Day to go ahead as planned; however, the safety and wellbeing of our children must always come first. Should temperatures become extreme, we may need to make adjustments to the event, such as modifying some activities to reduce physical exertion, increasing shade and water breaks, or bringing the finish time forward to limit children's exposure to the heat. In exceptional circumstances, postponement may be necessary. Any updates will be shared with families as soon as possible.
A World Cup Lunch!
Our amazing Kingswood Kitchen team provided the children with a fun-themed World Cup lunch recently to mark the beginning of the global football competition and inspire children through food and a bit of fun! Thank you Kingswood!

Inspire Opportunities continue at Woodland View
Our exciting Inspire opportunities continue to enrich learning across the school.
Recently, Foundation Stage and Year 1 enjoyed a visit from Little City, where the studio was transformed into a bustling town complete with a supermarket, doctor's surgery, post office and many other role-play experiences. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring different jobs and responsibilities through imaginative play.

Meanwhile, Year 5 took part in an exciting Egyptian Escape Room Challenge, working together to solve clues and uncover ancient secrets linked to their learning.

These memorable experiences inspire our children, broaden their horizons and bring learning to life. We would like to thank the Friends of Woodland View for funding these opportunities and all families who continue to support school events and fundraising activities that make them possible.

Parent Voice
Very soon, we will be sharing our annual Parent Survey. Your views are extremely important to us as they help shape school priorities, celebrate what we are doing well and identify areas where we can continue to improve.
Please keep an eye on School Ping and take a few minutes to complete the survey when it is released. Your feedback genuinely helps us make Woodland View the very best it can be for all children and families.
