  • School Sports Challenge – Spring

    Published 27/02/26

This week, the children at Woodland View have been taking part in our termly school sports challenge! This term's challenge was based around our current value - cooperation!

From Foundation Stage to Year 6, nearly 300 children took part in the challenge throughout the week! Depending on which year group your child is in, the challenge was slightly different. For children in Foundation Stage and KS1, they had to work together to run as fast as they could from one side of the pitch to the other, passing the ball carefully at the change over each time. In KS2, children were tasked with throwing and catching the ball - in a pair, showing coordination and cooperation - between each other a given number of times without dropping it.

  • Cooperation Value Awards

    Published 19/02/26

Being the final Friday of this half-term, we gathered together to celebrate our Values Awards. This term's value was COOPERATION. The red carpet was laid out for the winners and Mr Horsley led the proceedings.

The children showed great support for each year group's winners as they were called to the front, proceeded down the red carpet and accepted a special certificate to celebrate their achievement.

A teacher from each class then shared some words about the chosen children to explain why each child had been selected for the COOPERATION value award.

You may not know that we also have a range of music playing as the children come down the carpet. This is organised by our Year 6 DJs! As you can see from the picture below, Mr Horsley is also keen to encourage supportive dance as well.
