This week we have been celebrating Maths Week. Each year group was given a book to use as a focus and we were given 365 Penguins. It’s a fantastic book based on a family receiving a penguin every day for a year from the 1st January. The book is brilliant at getting children to think about how many days in the year, how many months in a year and how many days in each month. The children also explored addition by working out how many penguins had arrived by certain dates, looking at multiplication arrays to arrange the penguins into groups and created a penguin calendar! At the start of the week the whole school was challenged to look at the magic number 3 and complete challenges involving triangles which the children hugely enjoyed.
