Pi cityscapes – Maths Week!

Year 6 BlogComments Off on Pi cityscapes – Maths Week!

Earlier this week, we found out about Pi – we were a little disappointed that it wasn’t edible! Today, we looked more closely at the number and created our own artwork to show the different digit values of Pi by creating beautiful cityscapes. We started out by creating a watercolour wash background before creating a skyline silhouette with each tower the size of the next digit of Pi. Some of us even included a circular moon and tested out our compass use!

What do you think about our finished cityscapes? We think they look really impressive! A great mathematical art activity to celebrate maths week!
