Year 5 have had a very busy and super fun Maths Week! With an online lesson on triangles and tetrahedrons, a national TT Rockstars battle, super fractions work based on the Matt McElligot book “The Lion’s Share” and artwork created using the Fibonacci sequence -we have had a mathstastic time!

“The Lion’s Share” story led us to working on halving fractions and the idea that the larger the denominator, the smaller the fraction, along with some fantastic reasoning and problem solving. Whilst our Fibonacci art work tested our compass drawing skills and understanding of properties of circles-to produce a series of circles with diameters based on Fibonacci numbers!
