Pirate Day

Year 1 BlogComments Off on Pirate Day

What an amazing day we’ve had! It’s been lovely to see all the children immersed in our learning and our pirate theme today. We’ve certainly been busy.
We have made pirate fruit sticks and enjoyed them for our snack. We carefully practised cutting and threading our fruit onto our sticks. We’ve tested materials to see if they would sink or float in our ocean. We went on a fantastic pirate adventure in the immersive room where we boarded a pirate ship and set sail. Along the way we learnt some pirate sea shanties, got to dance like a pirate and even weathered a storm! We even walked the plank!
Back on dry land, we headed outside with our treasure maps to hunt for clues and solve the puzzle to collect our reward! All rounded off by the campfire, singing pirate songs and listening to some pirate stories.
