Honesty Value Awards / Goodbye Mrs Howles

This morning we celebrated our school value of HONESTY. This celebration doubled-up as a chance for the school (teachers, governors, TAs, lunch / office staff and pupils) to say good luck and farewell to our beloved Mrs Howles, who is leaving us after 21 years at our school! Over the years, she has been a class teacher, our SENCO, DSL and our Deputy Head.

Mr Horsley led the celebrations of our value of HONESTY and invited the winning children of the term to dance down our famous red carpet to a selection of 90s boyband anthems (a personal favourite genre of Mrs Howles).

The class teachers were then invited to speak about the children they had selected for their HONESTY value awards before they were presented with their certificates. Each year group then performed a Disney song – another favourite thing of Mrs Howles – for her, many of which also included some funky dance moves and sign language!

To conclude the assembly, Mrs Howles was presented with cards, gifts and flowers from the children and staff of the school. She went on to speak to the children explaining to them, “they must understand how magic a place Woodland View is.” Before reminding the children that: “they can alway talk to an adult about anything they are feeling – small or awful.”

This term’s HONESTY value award winners

A big well done to all the winners. We are proud of all the children at Woodland View for the honesty they show every day. Next half-term’s value is CREATIVITY.
