To help us support World Poetry Day (21st March), we have spent some time this week focusing on poetry! We started by discussing some poetry before talking about how we could use pace, pauses, actions, expression, volume and rhythm to recount a piece of poetry. We then watched some examples of authors performing their poems with these features included.
After this, the children were split into groups and asked to think carefully about the list above when performing their poem as a group. It was great to see each group cooperating brilliantly and how unique each poem was when performed!
