Today, Year 2 has a brilliant trip to the Thinktank Science Museum in Birmingham to link our learning from last term’s ‘Inter-Nation Media Station’ and this term’s ‘Paddington Passport’ topic. The children learnt all about developments in media over time, with a key focus on history. We engaged in learning about our body in PSHE with a focus on keeping healthy, clean and how to maintain a balanced diet.
We saw lots of historical vehicles including warplanes, trains, tram carriages and penny farthing. In the science sections, we looked at materials and how things are made and explored the body, mouth, and muscles with lots of interactive mechanisms. Dinosaur fossils and taxidermy animals from the past and present had us all amazed too!
We ended the day at the futuristic ‘Mini Brum’, an indoor role-play area, where we explored many mini businesses and tried to imagine ourselves in the adult world.
What a busy and brilliant time it was! Well done everyone.
