Today we ended our Mission Control topic with a fun and interesting experiment. The children were asked to work in groups to design and make a capsule fit for an egg to make a safe landing back on Earth! Working in groups, the children started by designing their own capsules and thinking about how they could use the little amount of equipment and resources to make the egg as safe as possible. After this, the children made their capsules using the equipment provided before taking them outside to drop them! We had a rather good success rate with 4/10 eggs surviving the drop, along with 3 that almost made it home with minor cracking!
This was a great way for us to end our topic and we look forward to starting our new topic – That’s Life – after half term!
