This morning, we used drama to help us to get into the mind of Harry Potter. We considered the start of chapter two in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – the moment when Harry is awoken on the morning of his cousin’s birthday – in readiness for writing an inner monologue for Harry. In pairs, one of the children verbalised what thoughts might be going through Harry’s mind at this point while the other acted it out, considering how he might show his feelings. The drama has led to some fabulous writing too! Well done Year 6!
