Maths week has been fabulous fun. We started out by reading the story ‘Equal Shmequal’ by Virginia Kroll. It’s a great story about animals wanting two equal teams for a tug of war competition. We took inspiration from this to discuss what equals and balance means. We even had our own tug of war to see if we could make equal teams too.

For the other half of our maths lessons we have been looking at 2D shapes. We first were challenged to make some 2D shapes using sticks, we thought carefully about the length, size and amount of sticks we needed for each shape. Then we used our knowledge of 2D shapes to make pictures only using 2D shapes. We had some fantastic art work produced.
