This week we started our new topic all about celebrations from around the world. This week has been all about Halloween and Bonfire night. We have looked at how we celebrate both celebrations and spoken about how other people may celebrate it. We have learnt about the Gunpowder plot and spoken about keeping ourselves safe around fireworks. The children have made their own pumpkins, practiced writing the sounds they have learnt, played in the party shop, read stories in the teepee and explored carving pumpkins. We have also had lots of fun in PE pretending to be mythical creatures, helping fairies learn to fly and learning about the importance of warming up and cooling down, and in Computing, creating our own firework pictures using the computer. To finish of a very busy week we had our first group do show and tell and finished the day with a story in the Woodland Workshop.
