A huge thank you to all the children and families who were able to donate some food to our collection for the Hope Centre this harvest.
We were overwhelmed by your collective generosity- showing the power of what we can achieve when we come together. Every food item will make a difference to people facing hardship in Northampton.
John, from the Hope Centre, was amazed by our school collection! In fact, we filled his van which is just incredible! This means that we will be offering so many meals to people in need. John expressed his thanks and appreciation to us all as a school community and our brilliant Year 6 team.
Our Year 6 fundraising team worked so hard collecting all the food items on the playground as well as sorting the food out before it was collected. We were very proud of their dedication and determination to help make a difference- thank you.
The Hope Centre has said that all of the food donated by schools and community groups during their ‘Harvest for Hope’ project should help replenish their food banks for the next few months. As you will know, food banks are facing their hardest winter yet as there is soaring demand on their services. The Hope Centre has expanded their services with four additional food clubs to meet the increased demand. They currently contribute to 72,000 meals every month which is a sharp increase from 27,000.
We will be sharing the children after half term how their donations have made a difference- showing the journey the food makes through the food club warehouse.
Once again, a huge thank you for your kindness this harvest.
