The music of WW2

Year 6 Blog ArchivedComments Off on The music of WW2

We have been learning about some key musicians in WW2 and comparing their styles of music – half of the class preferred the songs of Dame Vera Lynn and half preferred the Big Band music of Glenn Miller. I wonder if your child can tell you which they preferred and why?

We then practised our reading of musical notation – building on the work they did during the Soundstart project last year – in order to perform part of ‘White Cliffs of Dover’ on the Glockenspiels. Some of us even managed to add some simple harmony in a few places!
