Preposition Pets!

Yesterday in English, our learning objective was how to use prepositions to express place. The children were extremely excited when they got to meet our new class additions for the morning… The Preposition Pets! Each pair was given their very own preposition pet who they had to name and look after very carefully! The children then took their pets outside and placed them in various places. They then used the iPads to film themselves building sentences to describe where their pets were in relation to something else using expanded noun phrases, prepositions and adverbs. We had ‘Karen balancing courageously upon the prickly, rough branch’, ‘Rosie hiding silently below the transparent, misty window’ and even Jeffrey who was ‘waiting patiently inside the deep, dirty flowerpot’!
