In pairs, we imagined that we were either a Roman emperor or Roman soldier and created an interview based around the following questions.

• Why did you want to invade?
• How did it make you feel when you invaded?
• What did other people think of you?
• How were you rewarded?

Once we had thought of our answers and practised them, we showed another group our performance before offering a positive comment and something they could work on for next time. We were asked to think about body language and how we used our voices to portray the roles we had.
